Bemetara is on of the Town in Bemetara Tehsil , Bemetara District , Chattisgarh State . Bemetara is located 63.8 km distance from its District Main City Durg . It is located 53 km distance from its State Main City Raipur .

Bemetara is a New District in the state of Chhattisgarh, India. Bemetara was established as tahsil in year 1907 along with the mungeli(bilaspur region). This region has its own importance year history since it had made.Though it is largest town amongst other town in the scenario of land,& population.owing to its suitability to being a district of chhattisgarh,it had to wait to call upon since kawardha has integrated. But the chhattisgarh govt realises its importance in central CG.

On 01Jan 2012, bemetara became a district with district headquarter at bemetara itself. The district was formally inaugurated by Hon'ble Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh on 13th jan 2012. Ms Shruti Singh, IAS became the first Collector and District Magistrate. Bemetara has two administrative subdivisions- Bemetara and Saja. The new district comprised four community development blocks, namely bemetara, nawagarh, saja, and berla.

The economy of bemetara is based on the agriculture. almost 80% of people in bemetara involve in their field & forms. The 10% of rest of the people are govt employees in various department viz: Education,Irregation,PWD&FCIs.Along with them the Education deppt is dominating one. 10% peoples are involve in the business and real estate & retail sector. The exise dppt of bemetara is most dominant deppt in bemetra such that it gives the around 5 crore of taxes to municipality of bemetara.

Bemetrian culture is influenced with the Chhattisgarhi ethics, rituals & customs. Likewise other chhattisgarhi region, this region also organise MANDAI, MELA @ MATARS at different occasions. Matar is conducted on the behalf of bhai duj celebration which is the 2nd day after laxmi pooja(diwali), while mandai and mela celebrated in magh purnima (feb-march)seasion. Apart from diwali holi & other Hindu festivals some regional festivals are celebrated. These are: HARELI, POLA, TIJA,DEO UTHANI EKADASHI, KARTIK POORNIMA etc.
